How We Verify Contractors
Philly Roof Find is built to feel like a local reference site. We try to be transparent about what we can verify, what we can't, and how we rank contractors.
What “Verified” means
A contractor may be marked Verified when we've independently checked available public signals such as licensing and insurance references, and the listing meets basic quality criteria (consistent business identity, local relevance, and review presence).
If we can't confirm a signal, we say so. Missing information does not necessarily mean a contractor is unqualified—it means the information is not publicly available or could not be confirmed.
How rankings work
Rankings are based on a blend of review volume, rating, service relevance, and local signals. We also prioritize listings with clearer business details (website, phone, service categories).
- Review strength: rating and number of reviews from public platforms.
- Service relevance: how closely a contractor matches the category.
- Local confidence: presence and consistency of business details.
- Verification: verified status may improve placement.
Disclosure (monetization)
Some contractors may appear higher due to enhanced profile options. We disclose advertising and keep editorial sections separate from promotions.
